Marsalforn
is the most popular summer resort in Gozo and, up to the 17th
Century, prior to the development of Mgarr Harbour, it was the main
port of the Island.
The
resort is well served with hotels, self catering holiday apartments,
restaurants, bars as well as diving and water sports clubs.
The
church at Marsalforn is dedicated to St. Paul Shipwrecked with the
present building dating back to 1730.
A
scenic promenade takes you to Qbajjar and Xwejni where quite a large
number of salt pans dating back to Roman times are still very much
in use.
A
watch tower which has been converted to a restaurant and night club
is also found on the road between Marsalforn and Xwejni.
